Cadence for Babies
Effective Date: April 17, 2026

Overview

Cadence (“the App”) is an infant-care tracking app that helps parents and caregivers log sleep cycles, feedings, diaper changes, medications, milestones, and other daily care activities. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.

Data We Collect

Data You Provide

When you use Cadence, you may enter the following information:

  • Child profile: first name, last name, date of birth, due date, gender, photo, birth weight, birth length, blood type, allergies, pediatrician name and phone number
  • Care logs: sleep/wake cycles (with sleep environment details such as swaddle, white noise, and room darkness), feeding sessions, diaper changes, tummy time, bath time, medication doses, and other daily tasks
  • Health measurements: weight, length, head circumference, temperature, and associated well-child visit types
  • Notes and questions: freeform notes, doctor visit questions, progress notes, and tags you assign to them
  • Appointments and contacts: pediatrician appointments, specialist contacts, and related details
  • Milestones and checklists: developmental milestone tracking and age-based checklist completion
  • Caregiver information: device name and sync status for co-caregivers you invite to share access to a child’s data

Data Collected Automatically

  • Crash reports: If the App crashes, Firebase Crashlytics collects diagnostic information including device model, operating system version, stack traces, and crash timestamps. This data does not include any child or care log information. Crashlytics data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect analytics or usage tracking data
  • We do not collect location data
  • We do not collect advertising identifiers
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes

Where Your Data Is Stored

On-Device Storage

All care data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. The App is fully functional without any cloud connection.

Optional Cloud Sync

If you choose to enable cloud sync, your data is transmitted to and stored in your own cloud storage account using one of the following providers:

  • Apple iCloud (CloudKit)
  • Google Drive
  • Microsoft OneDrive
  • Dropbox

Cadence does not operate its own servers. When you enable sync, your data is stored in your personal cloud account, encrypted in transit, and governed by the privacy policy of the cloud provider you choose. You can disconnect sync at any time from Settings, and your data remains on your device.

Multi-Caregiver Sync

If you invite another caregiver to share access to a child’s data, that child’s data is synced between devices using the cloud provider you selected. Each caregiver’s device maintains its own local copy. You can revoke a caregiver’s access at any time.

Your Rights

Access and Export

You can view all data stored in the App at any time. Doctor visit reports can be generated and shared directly from the App.

Deletion

You can delete any individual child’s data, care logs, notes, or other records from within the App. Deleting a child profile removes all associated data from the local database. If cloud sync is enabled, deletions are propagated to your cloud storage account.

Uninstalling

Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data. Data stored in your cloud provider account (if sync was enabled) remains in your account until you delete it.

Children’s Privacy

Cadence is designed for use by parents and caregivers to track infant care. The App does not collect data directly from children. All data entry is performed by the parent or caregiver. We comply with applicable children’s privacy laws including COPPA.

Security

  • All data is stored locally in an encrypted database
  • Cloud sync uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Cloud data is stored in your personal account, protected by your account’s security settings
  • No data is transmitted to Cadence-operated servers

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
